son of the late Floyd and Lydia Faulk. Mr. Faulk was a graduate of Lincoln High School and was a meat cutter for many years,
working for Safeway and Albertsons. He is survived by his daughter, Kim Sigafoos and her husband Mark of Gig Harbor; grandchildren
Ashley and Sean Sigafoos of Gig Harbor; numerous cousins and many friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:30am Saturday,

Richard L. Fenton, 46, born and living in Tacoma most of his life, died March 27, 1989.
Richard was a professional poker player, winning many titles in Washington and Nevada and winning the “Golden
Nugget Hold ‘Em Tournament”. He served in the U.S. Navy. Surviving is his fiancee, Dotty Harlan, Tacoma; daughter, Rebecca Fenton, Tacoma; parents, Harold and Luetta

Gary Phil Ficca deceased - 25 Sep 2012
Gary Philip Ficca Gary, born on January 29, 1942, died September 25, 2012. He was the older brother by six minutes
to his twin, Larry. He was born in Spokane, WA to Phil and Frankie Ficca. The family relocated to Tacoma in 1946.
Gary graduated from Lincoln HS in 1960. He attended Olympic College and the University of Washington. Gary enlisted
in the US Navy submarine service, but eventually fulfilled a life-long dream of earning his wings and was commissioned an
officer in the US Navy. In 1983 he retired with 26 total years of service, active and reserve. Gary met Ann (Clark)
in 1963 and married in 1965. In the early 1970's, Gary was introduced to the paint industry and became a store manager
for Sherwin Williams in Tacoma. He worked for most of the major paint suppliers and loved consulting work. He
began doing paint inspections for Specification Services and fell in love with inspection and consulting. He started
Custom Coating Consultants in May 1993. The company continues today with the same mission and values under the leadership
of his son. Gary was an active participant as a boy and adult in scouting, with a great love of the outdoors.
He enjoyed hiking, biking, camping, and boating. Over a three-year period, he hiked the circumference of Mount Rainier
with his two sons and a high school friend and his two sons along the Wonderland Trail. His two passions were a round
of golf and a glass of good wine! He was always willing to talk about the latest achievements and activities of his
children and grandchildren. He loved attending soccer and baseball games, or school performances, plays, concerts, where
his grandchildren were performers. Gary was active in many professional organizations: NACE, CSI. He was a member
of PDCA (Painters & Decorators Association) and was awarded the Associate of the Year award in 1993 by his peers.
Gary leaves behind his wife, Ann, of forty-seven years, his children Tom Ficca (Ilene Levering), Mark Ficca (Lisa), and Julie
Nicol (Cameron), brother Larry Ficca (Ida), grandchildren Rebecca Mullins, Evan and Aidan Nicol, Cameron Ficca, Taylor Ficca,
and Shelby Ficca, and a large extended family. His parents preceded him in death. Memorial service will be held
at St. Columban Church, 506 1st St. S, Yelm, WA 98597 on Friday, Oct 5, 2012 at 1pm, with a reception following in the church
hall. Rosary will be recited at 12:20pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to

Arden Flom Arden Flom,
age 68, passed away on July 20, 2010 after a long struggle with cortical basal degeneration. Arden was born on June 9, 1942
in Grafton, North Dakota. Following a move to Tacoma, he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960 and Pacific Lutheran University
in 1965. He earned an MA in Theatre from the University of Oregon in 1967, and did additional post-graduate work at the University
of Denver in 1971-1972. Arden was the Director of Theatre at Everett Community College for 31 years, from 1967-1998. Arden
was preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Thelma Flom, brother Dean Flom, and sister Connie Filcher. He is survived by
his loving wife of 43 years, Cathy; his children, Eric (Angie) Flom of Milton, Georgia, and Kristen (Chris) Romero of Pikesville,
Maryland; in addition to grandchildren Katie, Tyler and Max Flom and Ethan, Jocelyn, and Alexander Romero; sister Audrey (Fred)
Bates of Port Orchard, and brothers Richard (Lynn) Flom of Queen Creek, Arizona and Randy (Cindy) Flom of Spokane. Friends
and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 29th, 2010 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church,

veterans. He also had a great love of all small pets, especially his two

courageously fought the good fight of faith. Bill went to be with the Lord after a bout with cancer. He was born in 1942 in
Olympia, WA, raised in the Mid-West and went to Lincoln High School. Bill then studied at UPS and UW, married, went into business
for 10 years, completed seminary and was Pastor of Harvard Covenant Church of Tacoma for the last 17 years. He will be very
missed by his high school sweetheart and wife of 32 years, Carolyn; his four children, Peter, Eve, Aaron and Sarah; his parents,
Carl and Mildred; brothers and sisters, Chic, Rod and Marge; 3 grandchildren, Jamie, Ben and Olivia. His funeral service will

in 1987 he went to work for the Puyallup Fair's Traveling Farm exhibit as "Old MacDonald". He retired in 1998 and move to
Silver Creek, WA where he enjoyed camping, fishing and train collecting. He is survived by his wife Janet, sons John (Bonnie)

William Alan Greinke

Alan Greinke March 9, 1942 - Dec. 8, 2008 William was born to William and Wilda Greinke in Tacoma, WA. He passed away
peacefully after a year long battle with cancer. He graduated from Lincoln High School then served in the Army as a helicopter
mechanic in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Tacoma School District as a carpenter. He spent his retirement years with
Joan Barry, his significant other, enjoying cruises, RVing, golfing and spending time at the ocean. Bill
is survived by his eldest son Jeff Greinke (wife Cindy), youngest son Tim Greinke (girlfriend Adrian) and was blessed with
his first beautiful granddaughter Kiya, whom he adored. Bill also leaves behind two younger brothers, David and Dale Greinke
of Tacoma. The family wishes to thank Franciscan Hospice House for their loving care of Bill. In lieu of flowers, donations

loving memory, of Catherine Mae Davidson.
11-10-1942 thru 08-10-2012. Cathy was
born in Dickinson, North Dakota. Cathy
and her family that included her parents, Frank and Anna, brother Ronnie and
sisters Virginia & Marlene moved to the pacific northwest in 1955 and
settle in Tacoma, WA. Another sister
Debby came along a year later. Preceeded
in death was Cathy's daughter Renae Davidson, parents Frank and Anna Haag and
sister Virginia Emmons. Surviving are
children Cindy Compton (Lake Oswego, OR.), Terry Davidson (Spanaway), and Kelly
Davidson (Spanaway). Sibling include
Ronald Haag (Lisa) Spanaway, Marlene Haag (Monroe, WA.) and Debby Haag-Pursiful
(Chuck) Lake Tapps, WA. Grandaughter are
Amy Davidson (Spanaway), Sarah Jones (Michael) Corvalis OR., Brandi Davidson
(Parkland). Grandsons, William Compton (Corvalis, OR. ) and Dereck Davidson
(Tacoma, WA. ) Along with numerous great
grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Cathy
went to Gray junior high and Lincoln high school. She enjoyed camping with the
family, cooking,
ceramics, bowling, inside house painting, yardwork, schuffleboard and
babysitting the grandkids. In 1974,
Cathy became a tavern bartender and started working at Max and Dick's, 43rd.
St., Bergy's and Al's taverns. She
really enjoyed her job and the many friends she made along the way. At the age
of fifty, she was diagnosed with
MS. There were many challenges that lied
ahead for her, leading to her retiring in 1999.
Cathy was transferred to Life Care Center of Puyallup in May 2006, when
she had become bed reddened. All the
Family would like to take this time, to say MANY THANKS for the excellent care
she received while at Life Care Center including , the doctors, nurses, aids,
housekeepers, activity staff, food handlers and deliverers, Sandy the hair stylist,
the business office

Martin Halko After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Louis Martin Halko, 63, a 30-year Renton resident and retired
fiberglass building and auto-detail instructor at the Highline Vocational School, passed away Feb. 11, 2006. A Tacoma native,
his passions were home-remodeling projects big and small, gardening, travel, fishing and his dogs - Peaches, a rat terrier,
and Goofy, a dachshund - along with a deep love of family. He also served in the Marines. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Charles John and Mary Halko, of Tacoma, and his sister, Janice Strock. A very devoted husband and father, he will
be greatly missed by his wife, Maryann; a daughter, Kimberly Denise Halko, of Renton; a son, Charles John Halko, of Renton;
a brother, Michael (Cheri) Halko, of Seattle; a sister, Mary (Ranny) Green, of Tacoma; as well as several loving nieces and

Bruce L. Hammer Bruce L. Hammer, age 66, of Marysville, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at home. He was born in Aberdeen,
WA on January 1, 1941 to Clifford and Frances (Duncan) Hammer. Bruce served proudly in the U.S. Navy. He had a long career
in Aviation, working on the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs as well as for Boeing in Everett, WA. He is survived by his
wife of 37 years, Ursula, his daughter Michele (Brett) Kuwada, his son Chris Hammer, 2 sisters, a brother, and many nieces

Gary Robert Hansen Sr. February 7, 1941 - June 8, 2011 Gary passed
away peacefully on June 8, 2011 in Nebraska. Gary was born in Tacoma, Washington to the late Robert W. Hansen and the
late Aline Hansen. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. He lived in Tacoma until he retired and moved
to Maxwell, Nebraska. Gary is survived by his wife Christine Hansen, their two children, Shelley (Mike) Benson of Williamsburg,
Virginia and Rob Hansen (Travis) of Tacoma, grandchildren Tyler, Ryan, and Katie Benson, his sister Gayle (Jon) Holm, and
nieces Nicole Cologerou (Randall Erdman) and Ashley (Kevin) Knudson of Tacoma. "Hummer" was a proud retired Longshoreman
from local 23. He was a Longshoreman for over 35 years. His union
brothers have many stories about "Hummer" and he will live on in those memories. Gary loved spending time at Herron
Island and enjoyed vintage cars. He had a weakness in collecting just about anything old or odd. He called them
his treasures and liked it when his grandchildren called him the "Junkman". Gary had a great sense of humor until very
end. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. A memorial for Gary will be held at a later date. Donations
strongly suggested to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.

Seattle July 18, 1942 but lived all his life in Tacoma. He was graduated from
Lincoln High School, had served with the U.S. Navy and had recently retired from his position as foreman at ASC Pacific Inc.,
due to ill health. He is survived by sons, T.J. III and Sean; granddaughter,
Nicole; his mother, Monica Harrison; sister, Jean Gobel and husband Red; brother, John and wife Cheryl, all of Tacoma; sister
Marilyn Boothe and husband, Ron, Atlanta, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives, his girlfriend, Laurie Johnson,

Lloyd Haynes, 38, a former Tacoma resident who had moved to Kirkland, died Thursday following a long illness. Born in Wisconsin, he lived in Tacoma for 18 years before moving from the area in 1960. He was a research technician for the University of Washington, and served with the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Leslie of Kirkland; a son, Allen of Kirkland; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.

House, Johnny's Dock, Main Yon, and Chieftain restaurants. Gary always served stiff drinks and great jokes. He always had
cool cars. Gary was a devoted son, a loving and caring brother, and a terrific uncle. Gary was preceded in death by his parents,
Joseph and Barbara. He leave behind a sister, Bev (Don) Drago, brother Harv (Doris) Hecker, nephews John, Brian, Randy and
Matt, niece Nancy, their families, and numerous cousins and friends, especially his loyal friend Dave Roberts. The vigil (rosary)

Shirley Ann LaVelle On November 6, 2012 our beloved mother,
friend, sister, aunt, and daughter Shirley Ann LaVelle (Heggen) flew away on the wings of angels. No more pain, no more
cancer, and no more heartbreak. The open arms of the Lord awaited her and those who love her have the love she left
in their hearts. Shirley was born on September 27, 1941 in Fergus Falls, MN, and lived on a farm until her family came
to Tacoma, WA when she was 7 years old. Shirley loved school and excelled in nearly everything she did. She graduated
from Lincoln High School in 1960. She raised two daughters, Robin and Julie, and a stepdaughter, Tracy, whom she loved
as her own. She will be missed by her four granddaughters, Angela Hergert (Brandon), Lindsey Nichols, Karleen Pacheco

mourn the loss of "Apple She". She was very close to her sisters Barbara Patrick and Susan Shelley and her mother Evelyn
Heggen. Shirley loved her friends and taught that to have a friend you need to be a friend. She was an inspiration
to many, an entrepreneur, and a fierce champion of the underdog. She was a breast cancer survivor
who turned her disease into an opportunity to positively influence others facing the disease as well as raise money for the
cure. She embarked on her fight against brain cancer with the same positive outlook. A celebration of her life
will be held on November 19, 2012 at 2p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Tacoma, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family

Michel Ann (Johnston) Honeycutt August 21, 1942 - March 15, 2010 Michel
Ann passed away peacefully after a 10 year battle with cancer. She loved life, her family, and had many friends from near
and far. Michel is survived by her loving husband Tom. She also leaves behind a son Roger Van Siclen (Larena) grandsons Nick,
Chris, Raven, Devon and Logan. Michel also leaves a daughter Marni Kirby (Chad) granddaughters Paige and Brooke. She is survived
by her brother Robert C. Johnston (Donnella) and sister Randi Powell-Johnson (Dave) and many nieces and nephews. Michel was
born in Tacoma, WA to Bob and Jane Johnston. She shared many of her adult years in the area as an Elementary Educator. Active
membership included P.E.O., Delta Kappa Gamma, and Children's Orthopedic Guild. In addition to teaching, Michel enjoyed entertaining,

was born on October 13, 1942 and passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 22, 2009. He spent his whole life in Tacoma
and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. He then spent four years in the Air Police of the the USAF, obtaining the
rank of Airman First Class. He was a recently retired service technician after more than 30 years in the food equipment business.
John is survived by his loving wife Nancy, sister Diane Larsen (David), brother Bob Ostrom (Darlene), and by his children,
Eric (Allison), Eron (Joanne), Evan (Becky), Staci (Al), Jon (Denise), and Abbyanne (Charles). He is also survived by seven
beautiful granddaughters, seven best looking grandsons, one great-grandson, sisters-in-law Julie (Terry), Elly, Geri, and
brothers-in-law Mark (Bert) and Dick. John loved spending time with his grandkids, putzing around his yard, watching football,
and spending time with family and friends. He was especially close to his cousins Steve and Lani, Tom and Linda, John and
Linda, their families, and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will take place Sunday, November 1 from 1:00

Rose, Judy Judy Rose Passed away on Jan 7, 2007 after a battle with cancer.
Judy was born July 19, 1941 in Tacoma, WA, to Al and Marj Pitts. Her maternal grandparents, Art and Mary Kirsch, adopted her
at the age of 7 when her mother died. Her name was changed to Judy B. Kirsch. When the grandparent's health failed them, she
was invited to live with Pastor LaVerne and Gail Nelsen and their family at the age of 17. She graduated from Lincoln High
School in Tacoma, moved to Port Angeles, WA with the Nelsen family, and spent a short time in the US Navy where she trained
to be a nurse. At that time she met her future husband, career Marine Ron Rose. Military life took them to various locations
in California and ultimately to Maryland, where they settled in 1966. Throughout her life, Judy had a passion for reading
and crocheting afghans. In recent years she loved using email to connect with family. She never liked her middle name so changed
her legal name to Judy Rose in recent years. Judy was preceded in death by her 3 sets of parents, her uncle Art Kirsch, and
her favorite aunt Patty Matthees. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ron Rose, Sr., three sons: Ronny (Susan) Rose,
Jr., David Rose, Robert (Leslie) Rose; daughter Gail Loney, 7 grandchildren, brothers: Tom (Dena) Pitts, Eddy (Terri) Pitts,
Burle (Ginny) Pitts, Ralph (Kathy) Pitts, Greg (Marie) Nelsen, Andy (Shelley) Nelsen, Tim Nelsen, Kerry (Nancy) Pierce; sister
Kathy (Dietmar) Maass, aunt Peggy Kirsch, uncle Al Matthees, and cousins Roger (Marcee) Matthees, Sandy Papacek, Scott (Mary)

JoAnn (Klevmoen) Ouellette June 22, 1942 - July 28, 2012 JoAnn, beloved wife, sister, "Auntie" and friend went home
to be with her Lord unexpectedly after a six month struggle with ITP. Although we rejoice she is no longer suffering,
we are still deeply saddened by our loss. What brought her the greatest joy was spending time with her husband, family
and friends. JoAnn graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. On September 21, 1968 JoAnn married her best friend,
Paul Ouellette and they spent 43 wonderful years sharing life together. She retired from the Weyerhaeuser Company after
34 years of service and took with her some lifelong friendships. She is survived by her husband, Paul; sister, Pat Hagen;
brother, Roger (Margaret) Klevmoen; aunts Gudrun Sjol of Minot, ND and Helen Klevmoen of Wendall, Idaho; and numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at Lighthouse Christian Center, 10711 80th Ave E, Puyallup, WA
